SPECIFICATIONS

We manufacture in the same traditional way Bell Tents were made over 100 years ago.

All seams are double sewn, ventilators with storm covers in the roof, a heavily reinforced centre. A wood pole is available for an additional cost.

We have lifted the doorway to 1.7 mtr high so you don’t need to crawl on your hands and knees to get inside.

The doorway is supported by a tubular steel framework that doesn’t intrude into the entrance area.

(Check this out against cheap foreign imports!)

Hand cleft hardwood pegs, hardened tension runners and strong rope guys all make for a very robust tent.

All points of strain are heavily reinforced with herringbone webbing – all double sewn.

Guy ropes are attached to strong rings to prevent any chaffing on the tent fabric.

Good ventilators are fitted in the side wall – 3 in each tent – all with exterior storm covers and tapes to roll the covers up.

Rings and tapes are fitted all around the perimeter so that the walls can be rolled up.

The rubbers around the base are attached by strong herringbone webbing with an extra ‘O’ ring to attach a replacement rubber should you be unfortunate enough to break one.

Groundsheets are available either as a heavy duty loose groundsheet or a special zipped in groundsheet.

The heavy duty loose groundsheet is hemmed and eyeleted all the way round.

The heavy duty zipped version has the zips already attached to both tent and groundsheet. We use heavy duty moulded zips.

Both of the above groundsheet options are manufactured from 600 gsm PVC coated polyester. Both options are fire retardant to European standard M2.

Both of the heavy duty groundsheets are manufactured with a Velcro joint to the centre pole. This enables the groundsheet to be turned back around the entrance area – so no muddy boots on the carpet!.

Both of the heavy duty groundsheets have a centre up stand around the pole – so the pole sits on the ground and NOT on the groundsheet.

Both of the heavy duty groundsheets can be removed totally without the need to take out the centre pole.

We have made sure of your safety – BCT Bell Tents are all made of fire-proofed cotton canvas, fireproofed to BS7837(1996). They are also rot proofed, mildew proofed and water proofed. Please see our care of your tent leaflet.

Many people fit a flue for a wood burning stove or cooker.

Fire retardancy is essential for your safety and the safety of others don’t attempt to use a stove in a tent that is not fire retardant.

We supply a fire certificate on request, you will need this at many of the festivals.

What could be more cheery than that smell of wood smoke and the kettle simmering away on the wood burner.
